The Injury Prevention International Travel Scholarship
The Injury Prevention Committee of the Panamerican Trauma Society is pleased to announce in 2014 the availability of TWO travel award scholarships for the best research related to the field of injury prevention.
The scholarship is intended to support travel to the annual meeting of Panamerican Trauma Society to allow the author(s) to present their work.
All abstracts submitted to the PTS for the annual meeting in the field of injury prevention and/or violence control will be eligible for these scholarships.
Preference will be given to research describing interventional projects rather than simple descriptions of injury epidemiology.
Award Amount: $1,000 USD
Number of Awards Available:2 per year

Decision by PTS:
Upon notification of acceptance for oral presentation, all scholarship recipients will be required to submit a full manuscript. The manuscript submission dateline will be notified by e-mail to authors.
Decision by PTS Scholarship Committee
Based on the timely submission of their manuscript and the following criteria:
Application of epidemiological/statistical tools
Coherence of the conclusion
Impact of research
This travel award is granted to an author of a selected paper for oral presentation who is traveling to present his/her abstract.
This travel award is not transferable to an individual who is not a co-author of a selected paper for oral presentation.
The travel award is paid by an international check to the presenter, and the award does not include fees related to cashing international checks.
